OUR STORY
During a visit to Crete, we stumbled across the old tanneries of Chalepa outside the city walls of Chania. Between abandoned factories and ancient ruins, we discovered workshops where leather is still produced according to time-honoured traditions.
The idea of combining contemporary design with traditional leathercraft forms the core of our label. The minimal and functional shapes of our bags and accessories emphasize the aesthetics of the leather.
The use of raw materials and the traditional crafting techniques give each bag a unique character, which matures and develops over time.
PHILOSOPHY
Our products are durable, the design is timeless. All of our products are ethically and sustainably made by our manufacturers in Greece and Switzerland.
The focus is on vegetable-tanned leather, furthermore we complement our product range with sensible recycled materials and textiles.
We pay attention to fair wages and good working conditions as well as the origin of the raw materials. By working closely with producers, we support the local economy and help preserve the traditional leather craftsmanship.
In order to keep the CO2 footprint as minimal as possible, we manufacture exclusively in Europe.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
The close cooperation with our producers is an integral part of Park Bags.
The production of our leather products takes place in workshops based in Athens, which we visit regularly.
This collaboration and our personal understanding of ancient techniques and traditions are reflected in our products.
In Switzerland we work with social organizations and foundations that support people in difficult situations.
These partnerships benefit all parties involved; from the tailors to suppliers and our customers.
OUR PROMISE
Only high-quality leather is processed in the Greek manufactories for our products. Each leather has an individual character, which matures and develops over time.
We truly believe that it is better to repair a product rather than replace it, which is why we offer our customers complimentary in-house repair services.

THE FACE BEHIND
Matthias is the face behind Park Bags. What started as a side project soon became a full-time adventure. Matthias studied Illustration in Lucerne, is part of Maison Shift and draws cartoons in his free time - the perfect addition to Park Bags!
